Searching for the inclusive spirit (Reflections on the incidents of Bahirdar)

Introduction

After the death of Joseph Stalin one cadre said, "The great comrade has died but his vision lives forever!"
A passerby replied, "I wish the reverse was true."

Harvesting time?

"Congratulations!" for those who "worked so hard" day and night for the realization of their dream to create Weak #Ethiopia. Their dream (our nightmare) has come true!

The despicable ethnic politics, which feeds on xenophobia, victim-hood psychology and intellectual prostitution that misreads history, has been sowed in this country for the last 22 years. It has now reached for harvest: #Guraferda, #Bahir dar, #Ambo, etc. These incidents don't seem to have an end. To hell with ethnic politics! And ethnic federalism!

Conclusion

Where is the inclusive spirit of Gada? Where are the hospitable Ethiopians? Where is the brotherly love of Gaki Serecho? (Gaki, the last king of Kafa, refused arms support from the British during his fight with Menilik II saying, "I don't need an outsider's support. If I win, I shall rule the whole country. If Menilik wins, he shall do the same. It is war between brothers.") Where is the defiance of Abichu who fought the Fascists putting aside his travel to France to study?

We need to listen to the inclusive spirits of our forefathers, instead of the 20/21st century vagabond politicians who don't seem to learn from neither the mistakes of our fathers nor from the mistakes of their own. Damn it!
